Despite the regime’s strength and Russian intervention, many of the problems were our own. So we worked to correct them.
One of the most important lessons I adopted was this: I never repeat the same mistake twice. If we make a mistake and lose in one way, then next time we can even lose in a different way—that’s acceptable.
But repeating the exact same mistake and the exact same failure over and over, that was the real problem.
