A second day of direct Israel–Lebanon negotiations is underway in Rome.
The Lebanese newspaper Al-Modun reports that Lebanon is working to quickly address the IDF evacuation warning issued for the village of Al-Mansouri through the Rome talks, and is pressing Israel to reverse the warning and hold off on strikes there.
El Manzouri sits inside the IDF-controlled security zone, where military activity endangered Lebanese civilians, an Israeli military source tells N12. The IDF evacuated them for their safety. The civilians had arrived under Lebanese army cover, which erected a barrier in the area in breach of the agreements.
A proposed Iran-Oman deal could hand Tehran a degree of control over ships entering the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, an Iranian official and two regional sources told Reuters.
They say key details remain unresolved, including actual control of the strait and how voluntary tolls would be paid. One regional source said a concession was made on some degree of control over Hormuz.
