The IRGC has denied President Trump’s claim that U.S. officials are holding secret backchannel talks with the group. An IRGC spokesperson called the claim “a lie” and said no negotiations with Washington are taking place. The spokesperson added that diplomacy falls under Iran’s Foreign Ministry, which also reportedly denies any current U.S. talks. The IRGC accused Trump of floating the claim to calm global oil and energy prices amid the ongoing conflict.
