Two F/A-18 Hornets with the Spanish Air and Space Force, operating under NATO’s Enhanced Air Policing Mission, were scrambled early Thursday from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base near Constanța, Romania, after radar surveillance systems detected a group of “aerial targets” in Ukrainian Airspace, near the border with Romania. Additionally, an IAR-330 PUMA SOCAT Helicopter of the Romanian Air Force was scrambled to assist with detection over the northern part of Tulcea County, according to Romania’s Ministry of National Defense.
