Ukraine has released footage of a new generation of high-speed interceptor drones, SkyFall’s P1-SUN “JetKiller” and F-Drones’ upgraded LITAVR+, now clocking 400+ km/h, built specifically to down Russia’s jet-powered Shaheds.
Ukraine’s technology and defense industries, working in concert with its military, have reached the point in the war where their reaction time to develop and field countermeasures is now fast enough to prevent Russian advances from reaching the same scale of effectiveness they achieved four years ago.
Russia is still scaling its jet-powered Geran-3/4/5 line, with Ukrainian HUR estimates of roughly 3,000 units a month out of Alabuga, well short of full-scale production, yet Ukraine is already fielding the means to counter it.
That is increasingly compressing the lifecycle of Russian weapon systems to the point of premature obsolescence. Russia can develop the next “wunderwaffe,” but if Ukraine can develop an effective countermeasure before Russia can scale its deployment, the weapon never reaches its intended level of effectiveness.
Just one more example of how Putin’s decision to drag out the war has disproportionately benefited Ukraine.
