Romanian President Nicușor Dan has declared the Russian consul general in Constanța persona non grata and ordered the closure of the Russian Federation’s general consulate there.
The timing follows the 28-29 May Shahed strike on a residential building in Galați.
Constanța is Romania’s primary Black Sea port.
Russia just lost its consular foothold, eyes and ears, on NATO’s Black Sea flank.
