Ukraine’s 15th Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade “Black Forest” destroyed a Russian S-300 command and control vehicle (5K76/5K76M) on 10 August, using a RAM-2X mid-range strike drone.
The 5K76/5K76M (image 3) sits at the regimental level and coordinates multiple S-300 battalions within its sector, directing target prioritization and assignment across the group. Losing it degrades command and control across the entire air defense sector, not just one launcher, radar, or battery.
The cropped image on the video used as an example is actually of a 54K6 command and control vehicle, which sits at the battalion level.
It should be noted that with the current high attrition rate for Russian air defense systems, it is difficult to say how the Russians were deploying the vehicle which, technically, could also operate at the battalion or battery level if needed.
