Day: July 30, 2026
Overnight into 30 July 2026, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile crossed into Polish airspace during a large-scale strike on Ukraine, flew roughly 80-100 km into eastern Poland, and crashed in an open field near Tarnawa-Kolonia (Lublin Voivodeship).
No casualties or damage reported. An F-16 was scrambled but the object dropped off radar before it could be intercepted.
Polish PM Donald Tusk: “All the evidence suggests that it was a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile.” He said afterward there is no reason to think Poland was the intended target.
The missile was part of a broader overnight barrage of 74 missiles and 284 drones on Ukraine, which killed at least eight people.
Fragment analysis and NATO coordination are ongoing. No formal escalation reported.
