For the second time in a week, the Justice Department has failed to convince a Federal Grand Jury in Virginia to bring a new indictment against New York Attorney General Letitia James, according to CNN. James previously pleaded not guilty to mortgage fraud charges, with the case being dismissed last month when District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie ruled that a previous member of President Trump’s legal team, Lindsey Halligan, who had charged both Letitia James and Former FBI Director James Comey with mortgage fraud, was unlawfully serving as Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

NEW | Rwandan-backed rebels captured Uvira with Rwandan army (RDF) support, effectively marking the defeat of the DRC in South Kivu province.
The fall of Uvira is Burundi’s gravest national security threat in years, posing the risk of an expanded regional war without de-escalation.
The M23-RDF offensive is the biggest escalation in the eastern DRC conflict since early 2025 and comes a week after Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, and US President Donald Trump signed the Washington Accords peace deal.
