The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) voted today to exempt a wide range of defense imports from VAT. This includes components for drones, electronic warfare systems, demining equipment, and combat simulators. The goal is simple. Cut costs, speed production, and accelerate modernization across the defense sector.
The Rada also extended existing benefits for several categories of military goods through 2027, and for renewable energy equipment through 2029. Lowering the tax burden on critical imports gives Ukraine more flexibility to scale unmanned systems, expand REB capacity, and sustain industrial output during the long war.
