The IDF marked one year since its offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon, releasing new footage of ground operations in the south.
Operation Northern Arrows began September 20, 2024, with a strike killing Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil and senior Radwan Force leaders.
A week of airstrikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and leaders, culminating in the death of Hassan Nasrallah on September 27, 2024.
Ground operations followed, with five IDF divisions killing operatives and destroying Hezbollah infrastructure across 30+ villages.
The IDF struck 9,800 targets, destroyed thousands of rockets, and seized 85,000 weapons, significantly weakening Hezbollah’s firepower.
Around 4,000–5,000 Hezbollah operatives were killed and 9,000 wounded, per IDF estimates.
The offensive disrupted Hezbollah’s “Conquest of the Galilee” plan; 52 IDF soldiers died.
A ceasefire began in November 2024, but the IDF maintains five posts in southern Lebanon, striking 300+ Hezbollah operatives and conducting 1,000+ raids for truce violations.
