2025-29 is a U.S. DOD wet dream as it represents the last window the U.S. has to not lose. There’s nothing on the Chinese side that tells me they are remotely planning something in that timeframe.
They will move when they are proper ready, 2035-2040 is my guess.

I would argue that it hasn’t been accepted at the highest levels. In fact, I would go further and suggest that the U.S. founding mythos will make retrenchment an almost unsellable policy, and as such I’m quite pessimistic about the prospects of avoiding war.
