It’s true the Union leadership was against the deal, but everybody knows competing bid holding Cleveland Cliffs is working with the union leadership. Many rank and file were for the deal because they know a domestic acquisition will be worse for the rank and file.

Yes, Trump wanted to kill the deal. That’s largely why Biden/Harris came out against it during the campaign. But as a lame duck, Biden had the ability to put strategy and interests over politics. He failed to do that.

The White House thinks its doing the popular thing and its true the union leadership was against the deal. But Gov. Shapiro was for it, for good reason. It’s the best chance of saving the jobs of those workers and many of them know it. Now, Dems own the consequences.
