In 1974, photographer Jack Bradley managed to capture the exact moment 5-year-old Harold Whittles heard sound for the very first time. Born deaf, the expression of amazement on the young boy’s face proved remarkable enough for the photograph to be featured in a 1974 Reader’s Digest article entitled “Unforgettable moments caught on film.”

The population of Asians eligible to vote will reach an estimated 11 million, more than double the 5 million who were eligible to vote in 2000. Asians will account for 5% of next year’s electorate.
